San Diego Junior Theatre Costume Loft

Join us this Saturday and Sunday in the loft for loads of stitching and slaving--er, stitching and sewing fun!

Tomorrow (Saturday, 4/24): 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Sunday, 4/25: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Don't be left out. Make sure that you're able to say "And I helped!" on opening night! See you up the stairs! 

...as long as you keep on volunteering up in the costume loft! Seriously, don't stop now. We have lots of finishing and alterations and even a few builds left before dress rehearsal on Monday. And even after first dress, we'll probably have some finishing left to do. So keep on coming up the stairs to help so that we can, in the word of fashion guru Tim Gunn, make it work!

The loft will be open today (Thursday) until 9 p.m. Tomorrow (Friday), we will be open 10-8 for volunteers. Saturday and Sundy, we will be open but the hours are still a little up in the air. I'll post them here tomorrow as soon as they solidify.

Hey, gang! We had an awesome costume parade yesterday! Thank you so much for the amazing support that you guys have given us over the past few weeks. Now, we're in the final two weeks leading up to the show, and this week is the big push to get ready for dress rehearsal next Monday, so keep that help coming along!

This week, the loft will be open for volunteers the following hours:

• Tuesday, 4/20 : 4p-7p
• Wednesday, 4/21 : 10a-7p
• Thursday, 4/22 : 10a - 7p
• Friday, 4/23 : 10a - 7p
• Saturday, 4/24 : 10a - 7p

There are a few take home projects available tonight, and there should continue to be some minor take home projects available throughout the week, but the majority of the projects are in-house. Looking forward to seeing you up the stairs!

Hey, gang! Just wanted to let you know that the loft will be open for volunteers on Saturday, April 17 from 10-7. We really need your help in getting ready for the upcoming costume parade on Monday! Can you believe it's only two weeks until opening night?!? Ack!

For Sunday, I am planning on walking into the park past the Earth Day festivities to work a little bit more. If you want to take a break from your celebration and join me, please feel free to come on up. I'm not sure of my times (probably 10ish-7ish again), so if you want to call before you head up, please feel free to call me on the loft phone: (619) 239-1617.

If you are available to work in the loft on Monday during Costume Parade, please contact our parent costume chair (Lisa Samson) to let her know. If she does not put you on the list to help on Monday, please do NOT just drop in. The loft gets very crowded during Costume Parade and we don't always have lots of projects (although we will have some) since most of the costume pieces will be downstairs with the kids. We can use some help, however, so please check in with Lisa.

Seriously, we had some phenomenal volunteers this past week, but we will need just as much if not more help this week and next to make sure that we have this show ready for dress rehearsals in two weeks. Below are the hours that I am planning on being in the loft and available for volunteers this coming week:

Today, 4/12: 9 am-6 pm
Tuesday, 4/13: 10 am-7pm
Wednesday, 4/14: 10am-7pm
Thursday, 4/15: 10am-7pm
Friday, 4/16: 10am-7pm
Saturday, 4/17: Undecided. Check back here Friday for more info.

Hello, all... Even though I would rather be buying a new iPad this Saturday (Haha), instead, we will be having volunteer hours in the costume loft during the rehearsal time only.

Next week, we will have the following hours:

Mon., 4/5: 10 am-6pm
Tues., 4/6: 10 am-6pm
Wed., 4/7: Closed due to ballet performance.
Thurs., 4/8: 10am-5pm (We will have to close early because of a ballet performance.)
Fri., 4/9: 10am-6pm
Sat. 4/10: Closed due to ballet performance.

If you want to take home some work next week, please call or email me to let me know. Remember, to take home work, you do have to stop in for a few minutes (15-20) so that I can gather and explain, so please plan accordingly.

Thank you so much for any help you can give. This show is the "big" one of the year in terms of costumes. With 61 kids and two or three characters per student, that's a lot of costume pieces (over 800 in total). While we are pulling a little over half the show, that still leaves almost half of the show to be built. Come join in the fun. We can definitely use you and maybe unlock some of your hidden talents!
