San Diego Junior Theatre Costume Loft

Hey, all! So we're off an running in the loft with Seussical. Mr. Richard has been hard at working pulling costumes, several of you have already been up cutting and organizing, and I've been hard at work getting the costume plot together and starting the patterning for our bird dresses...

Now, we are in the thick of it and need all the help we can get. There's only three weeks until costume parade. Come on up to the loft and let's get some clothes on these kids!

This week, the costume loft will be open for volunteers from 10-6 today (Monday) and tomorrow (Tuesday). We will be closed for Cesar Chavez day on Wednesday, but we will be back on Thursday and Friday during rehearsal hours (4-6). Saturday is an optional day this week, so check back here Friday for more info on Saturday's opportunities.

If you are interested in volunteering during the day on Thursday or Friday, please give me a call up in the loft and let me know so I can schedule shopping and errand-running around your times.

Hey y'all! Unfortunately, we will not be able to be in the loft this Saturday, March 27 due to a youth symphony concert. We will resume volunteer hours next week on Tuesday. Check back here Tuesday morning for an update on volunteer hours and needs next week.

Alright, so we are gearing up for Seussical and are ready for volunteers... The loft will be open during rehearsals (4-6) every weekday this week (Wednesday through Friday). Also, I should be in the loft Thursday and Friday from 10-4 before rehearsal. If you want to volunteer during those hours, just call up to the loft to make sure that I'm not out picking up dry cleaning, shopping for fabric, or searching for the latest in Seussian fashion.

Regarding Saturday, I think the loft will be open, but I'm not sure yet. Check back here Friday afternoon for an update.

I'll post the loft's hours for next week by next Tuesday morning. Check back here then!

Hey, all! For those of you who don't know, we're in the home stretch for Midsummer. We do have work still to be done since we've had some minor complications this past week. We will be working in La Jolla this afternoon (Monday) during rehearsal. We will be upstairs in the balcony room. Come on up and share in the magic of Midsummer!

With regard to take home work or working Tuesday or Wednesday, I'm just not sure yet. If you want to take some work home tonight, the best thing is to check in with me about thirty to forty minutes before rehearsal ends tonight. If you want to work during rehearsal tomorrow, check back here tomorrow during the early afternoon, and I will post whether or not we will be working.

Regarding the magic of Seussical, we're only beginning. This week, I probably won't be in the park during rehearsals; however, next week, we will come out of the gates swinging. The loft will be open for volunteers during every rehearsal. Check back here next Monday for specifics.

Hello, all! So, one show is up and running. One show is waiting patiently in the wings. And one show is just getting its sea legs. Whew!

So, here's the breakdown for this week:

 - I will not be in Wednesday or Thursday, but I plan on sending some volunteer projects to La Jolla on both days so any of you that can drop in and take care of some simple projects and alterations would be much appreciated.

 - Friday, I will be working in the park from 11-6. I will be happy to accept volunteers for either Midsummer or for Seussical. (I will be working primarily on Midsummer, but there will be some Seussical project ready since we are fabric shopping for Seussical on Wednesday.)

 - On Saturday and Sunday this week, I'll be in La Jolla during tech rehearsals with projects galore. So, if you're planning on dropping your young actors off, park instead and come help us with the finishing touches before the first dress rehearsal on Monday.

Next week will be another hectic week. Check in here on Monday for details on where I'll be and what we'll be up to.

Hey, gang... We're in the home stretch for Pippi! Opening night this Friday. We do have some projects that are available during the dress rehearsal today and tomorrow, so if you have time, feel free to drop in and help us finish up this fantastic looking show! There may also be some minor take home projects, but I'll know more at the end of rehearsal today.

Regarding Midsummer, there will be some projects available both Wednesday and Saturday up at the La Jolla space. We should also have some additional work every day next week. I'll post more on that first thing Monday morning!
