San Diego Junior Theatre Costume Loft

Hey, y'all! It's that time again. Time to put it out there in the hopes that some of you guys will be able to come in and help us get clothes on these poor actors, up there, emoting their little hearts out on stage....

Pippi...

So, for Pippi, we are gearing up for that final push into Dress Rehearsal week next week. Volunteer hours at Balboa Park are from 4-6 every weekday (Tuesday-Friday) and Saturday (2-6).

There are no take-home projects for Pippi at the present time, but there might be some later this week, so be sure to drop me an e-mail, give me a phone call, or just drop in during rehearsals to inquire. (If you drop in during rehearsals, make sure that you have 15-20 minutes for me to gather some projects and to offer any necessary instructions. )

Midsummer...

For Midsummer, Lisa Samson has kindly volunteered to be in charge of a project for us on Wedensday. She has the materials and the instructions. All you need to bring is a pair of fabric scissors to participate. (We only have two that we could send up there .

For Midsummer, on Saturday, during rehearsal at La Jolla, Crystal (the costume designer) and I will be there with some additional project to work on. They will consist of some tracing and some machine stitching and possibly some hand stitching. If you have a little sewing kit, it's good to bring it with you to La Jolla since we don't have a permanent space up there, but I will do my best to have enough supplies for anyone who want to volunteer.

Unfortunately, there are no take-home projects for Midsummer at this time, but keep checking back.

Because of the dance company's school performance (which I thought was last week--oops!), we will not be in the loft on Friday, 2/19, until 1 p.m. So, hours for Friday will be 1-6.

Hey, gang. Just want to let you know that the loft will be open for parent volunteers from 4-6 Tuesday through Friday this week. We will not be open this weekend for volunteers due to the Civic Dance Theatre's performances. Next weekend, we will have the theatre back and we'll have some weekend hours.

Hey, gang. So, we're up and running with Pippi Longstocking in the costume loft. We are starting fittings tomorrow (Wednesday) and will probably have some machine and hand work available starting on Thursday. Even if we don't have work for Pippi, we are in the process of bagging and tagging our fabrics and extra supplies up in the loft, so we can use all hands on deck!

This week, we will be open for volunteers Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 4-6. We will not be open on Saturday due to the Civic Dance Academy's production on the main stage.
