Volunteer Call: Midsummer and Pippi
Hello, all! Well, it's that time again. Time to start not one, but two shows at the SAME TIME! Woo!
We should be ready for volunteers to help with costumes for both A Midsummer Night's dream and Pippi Longstocking starting next week. Be sure to check back here Monday afternoon for volunteer call times and a description of the types of jobs that we'll have available.
In the mean time, if you are just itching to come up and see me some time (:, you can come on up and help me finish some sorting and organizing that will make the loft a much more pleasant place to work. Tasks include folding fabrics, sorting patterns, and restocking accessories. Witty conversation and positive encouragement are included free of charge!
Looking forward to it! Until then, Walter...

Thank You, Charlie Brown! On to Fairieland...
I just wanted to send a big THANK YOU out to all of the volunteers who worked on You're a Good Man Charlie Brown. Opening weekend was a great success, and we definitely couldn't have done it without you.
Hope to see you at the strike dinner in two weeks.
Yum.
Now, on to the next set of shows! Pippi is the next show to open; however, since we are still in the casting phase, we don't have anything going on up in the loft for it yet. Check back here for updates next week.
Midsummer has started rehearsals up in La Jolla, and the costume designer Crystal Hibler and I are making plans to get started on the costuming process for our fairies, Athenians, and mechanicals. This week, we are taking measurements and doing some pulling and fabric shopping. Next week, we should have some designs ready and some jobs ready for those of you who want to help us get an early and much needed quick start.
Check back here next Tuesday for the latest news...
Looking forward to working with you again, and may all of your midsummer nights be magical. (Oh, so corny.)

Home Stretch: Volunteers for Charlie Brown
Hello, all. So this is it! The final week leading up to opening night. Yay us! We do have some ironing jobs that could be taken home this evening at the END of rehearsal. (We need to set the paint on the costumes before the costumes get to "used" and before they are laundered.)
We don't have any work during the rehearsals except for some painting that can occur during the last hour or so of rehearsals. All pieces are on stage for the run of the show except for the dancing blankets. After that number in the first act, we can pull those costumes and finish the painting on them. So if you are available around 7p today or tomorrow drop in and see if you can lend a brush. ![]()
Other than that, I don't think we have a great need for extra hands this week. Thanks for all of the help you've given, and I look forward to working with you each again on future shows! - Walter
